Brewer Morris – Q4 Treasury vacancy update

The second half of 2024 and Q4 was the period we felt the market shift after a very quiet first half of the year. As a team job flow increased exponentially at all levels, with the most sought-after areas being the number 2 level in larger corporates, Treasury Manager and the mid-senior level on the interim market. Even with the doom and gloom in the news on the economic outlook, candidates remain active and open to moves. What we have seen less of is vacancies because of growth in permanent headcount, it has stemmed from movement within teams or new projects commencing.
A substantial change we saw in the market last year was the increase in PE backed business hiring their first treasury professional. There are several reasons for this, the two main ones being an increase in PE activity in the market, resulting in business needing to make this hire and an unstable economy, as a result prompting the need for a robust treasury function.
The Brewer Morris treasury team will be hosting a number of events throughout this year and attending the ACT conference in May.
