THE ROLE:

The Tax Compliance Manager will be an integral part of the tax compliance team within the Company’s tax department. This position will play a meaningful role in the monthly, quarterly and annual US tax compliance filing requirements, supporting the Director of Domestic Tax. This role will also assist with aspects of the quarterly provision. The Manager will work on special projects with senior members of the department to build efficiencies within the Company’s tax processes.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Primary preparer of US Federal Tax Compliance calculations and filings
  • Perform calculations of book-to-tax differences
  • Prepare annual tax return, extension, and quarterly estimate calculations.
  • Secondary preparer for various inbound and outbound international related forms and adjustments, including foreign tax credits,
  • Responsible for all income/non income tax filings and informational reporting for affiliated companies such as Subsidiaries, LLCs, and Disregarded Entities
  • Prepare required elections and disclosures such as accounting method changes, check-the-box elections, DCLs
  • Lead for the annual R&D study.
  • Manage State and Local Tax Compliance Process
  • Perform calculations of state modifications
  • Review apportionment analysis
  • Review state tax returns prepared by fellow peers/consultants
  • Prepare annual tax returns, extensions and quarterly estimate calculations
  • Lead preparation of returns for e-filing
  • Support US Federal and State tax audits
  • Assist Director in collection of data and preparation of responses for income tax examinations
  • Manage and improve tax compliance process and software.
  • Improve efficiencies and automation of Federal and State compliance.
  • Primary preparer of Federal and State FIN48 position.
  • Assist with the analysis of new legislations for quarterly provisions and returns.
  • Calculate Federal and State tax asset depreciation for the quarterly provisions
  • Responsible for various non-income tax filing, including excise tax and information reporting,
  • Provide tax technical support for issues, requests and questions to other departments and stakeholders.
  • Special Projects, as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None currently but may manage a team in the future.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and project management skills
  • Detail oriented with strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Great teammate who can work effectively across distances with global tax and finance team members
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate self to meet or exceed expectations and deadlines
  • Strong basis accounting (debit-credit and journal entry) skills
  • Strong background in US tax law, including both domestic and international concepts
  • Strong background in US International technical tax matters
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and tax-research software
  • Experience with CorpTax software
  • Direct experience with Hyperion/HFM consolidation software, Oracle ERP, and/or other ERP system

Experience:

  • 7+ years of tax compliance experience in both Big 4 and multinational corporate setting

Education:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
