Mixed Tax Manager – Energy and Renewables

You will be the go-to person and subject matter expert for tax in the Netherlands. Reporting to an overseas Head of Tax but also the Netherlands based Finance Director with support from the Netherlands finance team. You will provide expert advice on Dutch tax matters as well as international tax matters
You will be a CIT expert with a willingness to pick up and develop knowledge of other taxes. A key deliverable will be that you support with ensuring compliance with all applicable tax obligations (CIT, VAT, GST, WHT, PIT, etc.) in operational jurisdictions – 15 entities.
Responsibilities
- Be the go-to person for tax matters in the Netherlands. Offer technical advice across the group on all tax matters, presenting complex issues in a clear and practical manner.
- Handle all tax-related matters for the assigned territories, including direct, indirect, and payroll taxes.
- Identify tax-efficient structures, assess risks, and optimize corporate structures to balance tax liabilities.
- Provide tax planning advice during the pre-sales phase, engaging external advisers when necessary.
- Support the establishment of new entities or branches as required by tax structures or legal changes.
- Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, and payments for the Dutch sub-group and assigned entities.
- Prepare and review corporate tax footnotes and disclosures for consolidated financial statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns for Dutch sub-group entities and the top holding entity.
- Assist or manage tax audits and investigations, including post-entry customs audits, and resolve material audit issues.
- Collaborate with Finance for dividend planning and ensure proper filing and payment of dividend withholding taxes.
- Manage WHT processes, including certificates of residence, treaty forms, statutory rate schedules, and updates for the Finance Department.
- Prepare and review financial data for inclusion in Transfer Pricing documentation and ensure final reports’ accuracy.
- Prepare tax audit updates, provisions, and litigation reports for quarterly reviews.
About you
- Tax or accounting qualification
- Fluent or very good level of Dutch, written and verbal
- 2-5 years of experience in tax
- Experience with Dutch GAAP and IFRS
- International (global) tax and transfer pricing
